Online Slots - Who, What & Where?
Most online slots are manufactured by a handfull of casino software
providers. The most prominent are the Microgaming slots,
Playtech slots, IGT slots
and those from Realtime Gaming (RTG). A number of popular land-based
casino slots are also available online now too including games

and even a small but growing number of Aristocrat slot games. Of the online
slots listed here at Slotjunkies, only RTG allow casinos using their software to accept USA players because of the
somewhat grey legal situation in the USA.
The majority of safe and reputable casinos licence their online slot games from one of the 4 providers above. You can be pretty sure in fact that any casino licensing IGT or Microgaming slot games are safe. With Playtech, most are safe enough, but the way they treat players varies considerably. With RTG, unfortunately there is a real mashup of good and bad licencees and great care is required when choosing a casino to play safely. The slots featured above are part of RTG's "Real Series" slots available at all RTG licenced online casinos. Every slot in this category has a "random jackpot" of upto several thousand dollars, and most of the slots have free spin bonuses. They can be very streaky, but the potential for big wins is pretty decent.
Wagerworks are owned by IGT UK and consequently there are a few familiar names to those of you who play slots at land based casinos. Cleopatra I and II and Wolf Run are the obvious choices, but they have a very decent range of similar slots. Uniquely, Wagerworks games are Flash-only which means you play them in a browser and there is no need to install any casino software.
Playtech have recently expanded their slots and while the choice isn't as wide as with Microgaming (below) or RTG, some of the slots are just superbly presented and immensely playable. Great Blue and Gladiator are my picks of the new hi-intensity video slots, with Desert Treasure a golden oldie that I still enjoy. Once again, most Playtech slots feature free spin features too.
