It was quite a while before I actually bothered to download and play Lions Lair but as it turned out, it is pretty nifty. It's lowish variance means a smaller budget usually lasts longer and it has a free spin bonus round with a difference. When you get the 3 scatter symbols in view, which only appear on reels 2, 3 and 4, you get the free spins. I'm not normally a big fan of slots where you need to get scatters on designated reels, but this one happens frequently enough to appease me on that score. When you get the bonus, you get 12 free spins. Four of these are at 2x, 4 at 3x and 4 at 5x and you can choose which order each group of 4 is spun as the video above demonstrates. I don't think the Lions Lair slot competes with some of RTG's big name slots like the excellent Ronin or the very popular Cleopatra clone, Cleopatra's Gold, but it definitely has a place and it's a slot game I return to with some regular frequency.
