One of the better online slot games to be released by Wagerworks/IGT in 2009 was the Battleship slot, a video slot with a choice of two bonus rounds. When you get 3 battleship logos lined up on the first 3 reels, you get a choice: the "Sink The Fleet" bonus which plays just like the traditional Battleships game, or the marginally preferable (IMO) "Winning Encounter" which gives out random free spins and multipliers. Taking away the free spins, this slot closely resembles the land-based slot game of the same name, which is quite hard to locate. The symbols are different, but the overall look and feel are similar. The online version of Battleship has a pretty reasonable expected return, normally in the 94% - 95% range, which you'd be lucky to find in Vegas casino! This slot game was released in the same month as the innovative Dungeons & Dragons slot and in all honesty, I prefer the latter.
